Research Experience
My research focuses on the optimization of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acid (PUFA) production produced by oleaginous microorganism using bioprocess engineering approach. Improving lipid production in cell was conducted by optimizing fermentation media using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and adding palm sugar as carbon source. This research was aimed to lower the cost of lipid production that contained PUFA on industrial scale with higher yield. Furthermore, the trial of lipid production in a 1 L fermenter was conducted based on the best RSM optimization result. This experiment showed that the production of lipid using RSM optimization could produce 1.67 g/L yield lipid.
