The media and inoculum conditions were subjected to a specific engineering process. Additionally, I evaluated the properties of the biosurfactants produced, including the activity stability\u00a0in a wide range of environmental conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Microbial isolation and cultivation, production optimization (gene expression and metabolic production), bioprocess and fermentation, DNA extraction, PCR, and bioinformatics software competency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Testimonial<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The biotechnology program focuses on techniques and knowledge that are applicable in a variety of industries. The program allowed students to choose their own courses based on their interests. The classes I took taught me the fundamentals of skills and techniques, which I then applied to my thesis. Some of these classes are research design, microbial physiology, metabolic engineering, bioprocesses and fermentation. My exposure in this program to a wide range of laboratory techniques has proven to be particularly beneficial. All of the knowledge and experiences I&#8217;ve gained in this program helped me gain confidence in working in the laboratory and performing various research projects.
