Research Experience
My research focuses on the optimization of 3D scaffold fabrication from natural materials for bone tissue engineering. I have gained hands-on experience in culturing and characterizing human Wharton’s Jelly Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hWJ-MSCs), and extracting and characterizing biosilica (BS) from marine sponges. My work has involved the optimization and fabrication of 3D PCL/BS scaffolds, ensuring their compatibility with cell growth and differentiation. I have also characterized the osteoinductivity of these scaffolds through in vitro tests with hWJ-MSCs, assessing their potential in bone tissue regeneration.
