Research Experience
My thesis project focused on developing a recombinant ACE2-like enzyme as a potential drug candidate for acute lung injury due to SARS-CoV-2. This candidate is expected to be safe and effective. The study successfully confirmed the purified enzyme through affinity chromatography and demonstrated its activity against the native substrate using the LCMS approach. Furthermore, the recombinant enzyme proved to be twice as effective as the control in inhibiting the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and showed no toxicity to Vero E6 cells.
Skills
Bacterial cultivation and assay, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, recombinant protein technology, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, basic HPLC and LCMS analysis, basic animal cell culture, MTT assay.
