Interest: PETase Enzyme
Research Experience
My research focuses on the PETase enzyme, which has the potential to break down PET plastics. I investigated PETase enzyme activity by expressing it in E. coli BL21(DE3) under different culture volumes (50 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL, and 1 L). I also conducted PCR and colony analysis for the transformation of E. coli BL21(DE3) and tested the enzyme’s activity on various substrates, including pNPB and PET plastic film. This research contributes to the ongoing efforts to develop sustainable solutions for plastic waste degradation using enzymatic approaches.
