Biotechnology for Better Life

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id- Bioteknologi merupakan salah satu bidang ilmu yang meroket saat ini. Banyak penemuan-penemuan dengan basis bioteknologi yang membuat kehidupan umat manusia menjadi lebih baik. Itulah gambaran sebagian besar presentasi dalam Biotecnology Internasional Conference (BIC). BIC ini merupakan program pembuka dari rangkaian acara Konferensi Internasional Peringatan Dies Emas ITB dengan tema keseluruhan Energy and The Environment: Reinvention For Developing Countries. Konferensi pertama sekaligus pembuka ialah mengenai Bioteknologi dengan topik Biotechnology For Better Life berlokasi di Aula Barat dan Aula Timur ITB pada Senin (15/06/09) s/d Selasa (16/06/09).Topik ini meliputi pembahasan mengenai produksi enzyme/protein, bimaterial baru, dan pharmaceutical. Presentasi-presentasi yang dihadirkan melingkupi tiga bidang penelitian, seperti keterangan dari Adi Pancoro, Direktur Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi ITB, yaitu:
– Bioteknology of Human Health
– Biotechnology of Industrial and Application
– Biotechnology of Agricultural

Hadir sebagai welcoming speech ialah Dr. Armein Z.R. Langi dan Rektor ITB, Prof.Dr. Djoko Santoso, M.Sc, sedangan Dr.Ir. Tusy Augustine Adibroto, M.Si bertindak sebagai keynote speech. Konferensi pada hari pertama menghadirkan lima invited speaker yakni Prof. Sri Widiyantoro, Dr. Debbie S. Retnoningrum, Tumpal Silalahi, dan Prof. Aran H-Kittikun, serta tiga puluh empat presentator paper.

Salah satu invited speaker, Prof Aran H-Kittikun (Prince of Songkla University Thailand) mengupas mengenai Palm Oil (minyak palem-red). Produsen palm oil paling banyak ialah Indonesia dan Malaysia. Sebagai bahan bakar, palm oil ini beersifat CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) sehingga dapat mengurangi global warming dan menggunakan cleaner technology sehingga mengasilkan zero waste dan ramah lingkungan.

BIC ini diselenggarakan oleh Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi Institut Teknologi Bandung. Profil lengkapnya dapat dilihat disini.

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id- Biotechnology is a field of science that is skyrocketing at the moment. Many inventions on the basis of biotechnology that make human life better. That picture of most of the presentations in the International Biotechnology Conference (BIC). BIC is a program of the opening of a series of events International Conference Warning Dies Emas ITB with the overall theme of Energy and The Environment: Reinvention For Developing Countries. The first conference as well as opening is on the topic of Biotechnology Biotechnology For Better Life is located in the West Hall and East Hall ITB on Monday (06.15.09) s / d on Tuesday (16.06.09) .Topik includes a discussion of the production of the enzyme / protein, new bimaterial, and pharmaceutical. Presentations that were presented include three areas of research, such as the description of the Adi Pancoro, Director of the Biotechnology Research Center ITB, namely:

– Bioteknology of Human Health
– Biotechnology of Industrial and Application
– Biotechnology of Agricultural

Present as welcoming speech was Dr. Armein ZR Langi and Rector of ITB, Prof. Djoko Santoso, M.Sc, sedangan Dr.Ir. Tusy Augustine Adibroto, M.Si the keynote speech. Conference on the first day presented five of the invited speakers are Prof. Sri Widiyantoro, Dr. Debbie S. Retnoningrum, Tumpal Silalahi, and Prof. Aran H-Kittikun and about 34 of paper presenter.

One of the invited speakers, Prof Aran H-Kittikun (Prince of Songkla University Thailand) peeling on palm oil (palm oil-red). Manufacturer of palm oil is the most widely Indonesia and Malaysia. As a fuel, palm oil is beersifat CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) so as to reduce global warming and the use of cleaner technology so mengasilkan zero waste and environmentally friendly.
